What are the 7 Habits?
- Be proactive: I'm in charge of me!
- Begin with the end in mind: Make a plan.
- Put first things first: Work first, then play.
- Think win-win: Everyone can win.
- Seek first to understand, then to be understood: Listen before you talk.
- Synergize: Together is better!
- Sharpen the saw: Balance feels best!
How do the habits match our behavior system?
- Color changes are based on the habits. If a scholar is not following a habit, they may earn a color change. If a scholar is following a habit, they may earn a color change. If a scholar has changed their color (in a bad way), but begins to show they are working to be more proactive, thinking about their goals, working first, thinking of others, listening to others, and encouraging others- this student may earn the opportunity to move their color back up. If a scholar has changed their color (in a good way) but then makes poor choices and is no longer in charge, not listening, and not thinking of others or being an encourager- this student may need to move their color back down.
- Each day is a fresh start!
Order of our behavior system:
- Pink (top): "Hip, hip, hooray! You've found the leader in you today!"
- Blue: "Your leadership skills are starting to glow. Keep working hard to make them grow!"
- Green (where everyone begins the day) : "You're ready to go, you're on your way. Did you set a personal goal for today?"
- Yellow: "Be in charge of your choices and turn it around. Get your day back on proactive ground."
- Red (bottom): "Take a breath and get control- you need to balance your mind, body, and soul."
